First Redevelopment

In 1996 Wagh Infrastructure takes its first redevelopment: an eleven-family society near Dombivli station, rebuilt with the residents in transit housing for nineteen months. It is small enough that Jagdish Wagh knows every family by name, which is why it works, and why it teaches him the wrong lesson about the projects that follow. The job moves the firm from contracting into development and sets the template every later redevelopment in the novel is measured against.
